Editorial policy: how these guides are written, checked and corrected

This page describes who writes the guides on this site, the rules they follow, how AI tools are used, what is refused, and what happens when something is wrong. It is written for the reader, not for a compliance checklist.

Who writes, and who reviews

Frater Alek0s writes every guide. The same person writes and reviews them. There is no separate editorial board, and inventing one would be the first dishonest claim on this site.

Every guide is re-read at least twice a year, and immediately when a reader reports a factual error. Prices, app behaviour and store listings are re-checked on the day a page is published, because they change without notice.

The rules a guide follows

  1. The question comes first. If the guide does not start from a question a reader actually has, it does not get published.
  2. The method is reproducible. Another person should be able to follow the steps and see the same result, or a clearly different one.
  3. Failures get written down. A guide that contains only successes teaches nothing and cannot be trusted.
  4. No guaranteed outcomes. Language that promises a result gets cut, including the softer version of the same promise.
  5. Sources are named. Where a claim comes from a tradition, a text, a study or a reader report, the guide says which.
  6. Opinion is labelled as opinion. A practice that works for one person is reported that way, and not as a universal.

How AI tools are used

Drafting and editing tools are part of the writing process, so here is the full picture rather than a vague reassurance.

Commercial disclosure

The apps and books sold here are developed and published by this studio. Some links are affiliate links, and a commission may be paid when a reader buys through them. A commission never changes a verdict: reviews that recommend nothing still get published, and the affiliate disclosure appears on every page where a commission could arise. See the affiliate disclosure for the rates.

What is refused

Corrections

Corrections are part of the work, not an exception to it. When a page is corrected, the update date on that page moves, and the change is recorded here.

Reader data

Analytics are used to find out which guides get read, and they respect consent: nothing is recorded before it is allowed, and the details are in the privacy policy. No data is sold and no reader profile is built for advertising.
