ANARQUÍA
Love workings are the most requested thing in this field and the one place where the standard method runs directly into a problem the practitioner cannot solve technically. The sigil does what the sigil does. The tradition states that the practitioner's will is the active ingredient, and that statement is exactly what makes a request aimed at another specific person fraught, because there is no second party who could refuse. This article is not going to give you a procedure for making someone want you. It is going to set out the objection clearly, describe the narrow versions of this work that survive it, and give you a session protocol you can run this week.
Put this into practice
Everything described above costs nothing and works on paper. If you would rather the bookkeeping were handled for you, this is the app built for this particular kind of work.

Why this is the hardest problem in the book
The classical objection is about consent asymmetry: a sigil aimed at one particular person is an attempt to alter their preferences without their participation, and unlike a working about your own finances or your own attention, it has no version in which the target has agreed to be worked on. Money and weather are indifferent. Another adult's inner life is not, and the indifference is what the magic is being asked to remove.
The mechanics of the practice do not soften this. Nothing in the reduction to a sigil, nothing in the charge, and nothing in the cosmological framing creates a negotiation. There is no entity whose consent could be sought and whose refusal would be respected, because in the modern usage the entity is an aspect of the operator. You are asking yourself to act on someone, which is why the ethical question is not a bolt-on consideration but the whole content of the decision.
The tradition's own position sharpens the problem
Classical ceremonial usage distinguishes evocation, where a spirit appears, from invocation, where a spirit's influence operates through the operator. Most of the lineage that reaches modern practice has no separate entity at all. Carroll's influential position was that entities in chaos magic are best treated as a part of the operator's own mind rather than as external beings, which answers the ontological question neatly and makes the consent question considerably harder.
If the operative ingredient is you, then there is nothing to negotiate with, and the classical framework's expectation of a bargain with a separate intelligence has been quietly removed. What is left is a technique for applying your own conviction with unusual focus. For a working about your own attention, that is a perfectly good tool. For a working about someone else's decisions, it is a tool for overriding a stated preference, and the removal of the entity is what makes it so.
Reconciliation and attraction are different requests
Reconciliation magic, aimed at restoring an existing bond rather than creating attraction, is generally considered lower risk because a bond already existed. The distinction is real but it is smaller than practitioners like to claim, and it deserves a harder look than it usually gets. Reopening a channel that a person deliberately closed is still an attempt to change their decision.
The defensible difference is not about the history of the bond, it is about direction. A request for contact, for a conversation, or for the removal of an obstacle to a conversation is a request about circumstances and your own behaviour. A request that a specific person feel a specific way is a request about their interior. The first kind is defensible in a way the second is not, and most of what circulates as reconciliation work is actually the second kind with a softer name.
Turning a want into a written aim
the single most useful move with a relationship want is write it as a sentence, and the writing is where the aim usually fails. A sentence like I want them back is not an aim; it is merely a mood with a noun in it. It has no actor you control, no observable outcome, no deadline, and no way to be marked as achieved.
Rewrite it until every word describes something inside your own domain. Not they should contact me but I will send the message I have been avoiding, and I will not read their reply as a verdict on my worth, and I will not send a second message that week. That sentence is real, it is dated, it is checkable, and doing it improves the situation in the actual world whether or not any technique is involved.
Designing a request you could live with
There is a version of this work worth doing, and it is narrower than the marketing suggests. Aim at your own conditions: your willingness to be available, your steadiness, the amount of rumination you are doing, the boundaries you are failing to hold. These are the variables in a relationship that you actually control, and changing them is the mechanism by which anything changes at all.
Write the aim so that its achievement would be welcome even if the other person never does anything. This is a useful design test and it is not a sentimental one. An aim that would only be satisfied by a specific outcome is a bet placed on someone else's behaviour, and it will keep you in the practice for years while producing nothing you can evaluate. An aim about your own conduct has a real completion condition and you can tell within weeks whether you are doing it.
A charge with a consent clause inside it
The structure is a normal one, with one addition. Write the aim, reduce it to a sigil, and then state the boundary aloud over the figure: this is a request about my own attention and conduct only, and no part of it aims at any other person's decisions, feelings or choices. Read it twice, once for the aim and once for the boundary.
The clause is not a charm and it does not neutralise anything. Its function is to make the limit part of the committed act rather than part of your private intention, which means that if you later notice yourself designing a version without the clause, you will recognise what you are doing while you are doing it. That is the only protection available, and it works because it is inconvenient rather than because it is powerful.
What you need, and how long it takes
Paper, a pen, and a private half hour. A sigil generated by an app is fine for this, though drawing it yourself by hand adds something to the process that a downloaded image does not. Repetition on a schedule is a separate question from quality, and the useful answer is that the log matters more than the number of charges.
Give the aim a deadline of six weeks before you begin, and put it in the log on day one. Six weeks is long enough for your own conduct to change visibly and short enough that you will not be tempted to reframe the target. After six weeks you either did the things you said you would do, or you did not, and neither of those outcomes tells you anything about anyone else.
Reading the result without inventing it
Score it against the sentence you wrote, not against the outcome you wanted. Did you send the message, hold the boundary, stop the checking behaviour, keep the appointment you made for yourself. These are checkable by you and by anyone you tell. This is the only category of evidence available in this kind of work, and it is worth saying plainly that it is evidence about you.
If a change in the other person's behaviour does occur, resist the causal story. Relationship dynamics contain a great many moving parts, and any change you notice after a charged period will be attributed to the charge by a mind that is looking for it. Whether the working had anything to do with it is unresolvable from your position, and the honest note in the log is that the outcome was outside the stated scope of the aim.
When nothing happens
Most of the time nothing happens in the way you wanted, and the two common reactions are both bad. The first is escalation, which means more charges, larger aims, and a broadened target, and it makes the log worthless because the aim is now moving. The second is abandonment with a story attached, which is treating the result as a message rather than as a null finding.
The third option is the useful one. Mark the six weeks as missed, write one paragraph on what you learned about your own behaviour, and then decide whether to continue without the practice. Practising something you believe in, with a log that shows it is not producing results, is a legitimate position. What is not legitimate is continuing while quietly editing the aim so it can never fail.
The line you should not cross
The line is any working whose stated purpose is to change a named person's feelings, decisions, or obedience. Not softened, not framed as communication, not justified by the strength of your own feeling. If the sentence you are about to write would be unacceptable if the target could read it, you are writing the wrong sentence, and the fact that the target cannot read your notebook is the entire problem.
Repeated love magic against the same target is widely described in occult sources as cascading, a claim worth respecting even if you reject the metaphysics, because it describes a real pattern of escalation. Practitioners describe a progressive narrowing of the target's perceived options, and whether or not a spirit is involved, the behavioural pattern is well documented in the literature on coercive persuasion. The tradition's own warning is the most useful thing it has to say on this subject, and it is worth taking seriously precisely because it asks you to believe nothing supernatural at all.
Closing a working you will not finish
If you decide to stop, write the closure explicitly. State the date, the aim, the outcome recorded, and that the working is closed. Retire the sigil by striking through it rather than destroying it, so the file stays readable, and leave the log intact. The discomfort of stopping comes from leaving the thread open, not from the decision itself, and an explicitly closed file is a decision you can live with.
Then give the whole question a rest. Not a cooling period of two weeks, which will feel like a postponement, but a genuine interval of a few months spent on aims that are entirely about your own practice. Most people who stop doing this work do so because they were chasing something, and the way to make the stopping stick is to replace it with something they are not chasing. That is the whole of the recovery, and it takes considerably less time than people expect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a sigil make someone fall in love with me?
There is no defensible evidence that any method can do this, and the attempt is ethically fraught regardless of whether it works, because it is an attempt to override a stated preference using your own conviction as the only ingredient. What you can do with the same practice is work on your own conduct, availability and boundaries, which are the variables you actually control. That version is worth doing and this one is not, and that difference is not a matter of technique.
Is reconciliation magic acceptable if we were together for years?
The history of a bond does not settle the question, since reopening a channel a person deliberately closed is still a decision you are making for them. The defensible version is a request about circumstances and your own behaviour, such as creating an opportunity for contact without forcing one. A request that they feel a particular way is a different thing, and it usually gets the softer name in conversation while being the same request in practice.
Why is a consent clause part of the working?
Because it moves the limit from your private intention into the committed act. It has no power to prevent anything, and it is not a charm. Its value is that it makes the boundary audible at the moment you draw the sigil, which is the moment when a gradually expanding aim is least visible to you. A clause that is inconvenient at the time of charging is the only kind that does any work.
How long should I run a love working before judging it?
Six weeks, set in advance, with the aim written as something about your own conduct rather than about their decisions. Score it against the sentence you wrote, not against the outcome you wanted. After six weeks you will have real information about your own behaviour, and you will have no information at all about anyone else's mind, which is an accurate description of what this kind of work can and cannot tell you.
Is the caution about repeated workings just moral panic?
The metaphysical claim about cascading is not established, and you do not need it. What is well documented is that repeated attempts to influence a specific person who has declined narrows their perceived options in the practitioner, and that coercive persuasion has recognisable behavioural features. Respecting the warning costs nothing and does not require you to accept any supernatural premise, which is why it is worth respecting.
